Rhein- Donau Club Oktoberfest 2022!

The hugely popular annual Oktoberfest celebrations at the Rhein Donau Club didn’t stop this year with the team busy putting on weekly Friday and Saturday festivities at their Myaree Club. Guests were welcomed with club members dressed in their best dirndl and lederhosen and the sound of music coming from the Edelweiss Hall enticing visitors in. With seating available in either the Edelweiss Hall, Sports Hall, Lounge or Beer Garden all areas boasted front row access to live music, traditional German Oktoberfest games such as Masskrugstemmen (holding a Beer-Stein the longest wins), log sawing and bell ringing singing.

The fun didn’t stop there with the Rhein Donau Clubs Shooting Gallery open for guests to try their luck at target shooting, a crowd favourite and establishment that has been welcoming guests for years.

Treffpunkt Visit the Goethe Society!

On Friday the 23rd of September, the Treffpunkt team made a special visit to the Goethe Society’s Tuart College classrooms to talk to the German students about the opportunities learning and speaking German can have after finishing school. With some students about to complete their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) exams and others only beginning their higher secondary school education, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to explain our journeys after finishing school, give tips and answer any questions the students may have had about exams, German and future endeavours.

Lanternfest at Bullcreek Primary School

On September 21, 2022, the annual Lanternfestival took place at Bull Creek Primary School. Every year for the past 20 years, lanterns have been diligently made in August or September so that students, teachers, parents and friends can celebrate St. Martin together. Of course, St. Martin is celebrated in Germany in November, but at Bullcreek Primary school, they celebrate the festivals as they fall, in line with the season and the curriculum.
